Yael Cohen Braun, Founder of Motherlucker and Co-Founder of Fuck Cancer

Yael Cohen Braun is the founder of uncensored parenting community Motherlucker and the co-founder of non-profit charity Fuck Cancer.

Yael founded Motherlucker in 2015 after giving birth to her first child, JJ, to provide parents with a more honest approach to sharing the exhausting and hilarious journey of new parenthood. In 2018, it was announced that women-driven social connection app Bumble acquired Motherlucker’s digital media assets as a resource for audience category insights.

Yael launched Fuck Cancer, a nonprofit dedicated to early detection, prevention and support of those with affected by cancer, in 2009, after her mother was diagnosed with breast cancer. Her mission was to change the way people talk about cancer, and champion the belief that people who are diagnosed with cancer, their families, and network should have equitable access to support.

Yael serves as an advocate for a range of health care issues and as a result of her work, is recognized as a leader in philanthropy and social entrepreneurship. She has been named to Fast Company’s ‘100 Most Creative People in Business’ list, a ‘Genius Award’ recipient by Elle Magazine, one of Canada’s Most Powerful Women by the Financial Post and was awarded the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Award.

Yael serves as a Senior Advisor to Bumble, sits on the board of Fuck Cancer as well as the Board of Trustees for the Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles, CA. Yael resides in Los Angeles California with her husband and two sons with a baby girl on the way.
