Mary Kate McGrath is a lifestyle expert and Editor-in-Chief of PureWow, a popular online publication with a mission to “Elevate the Everyday.” Mary Kate joined PureWow after more than a decade working with women’s magazines, including Real Simple, InStyle and Food Network Magazine (as a result, she has one of the most organized and stylish linen closets around).
At PureWow, Mary Kate is responsible for the brand’s overall editorial strategy, including the launch of new editions and the expansion of video series and web franchises across multiple platforms. The people. The CEO was away for his honeymoon and we ordered a 6' tall cardboard cutout of him to stand in the office…we missed him (and his amazing musical playlists) that much.

One piece of advice you would give your 18 year old self:

Slow your roll. Relax. All that career stuff? You’ll figure it out (and hint: you’re going to LOVE what you do). So for now? Go live in Italy for 3 years and we’ll talk when you get back.

Buvette. Buvette. Buvette. The cutest spot on the sweetest street in NYC’s West Village. Hands down the best salad in NYC (insanely fresh greens, buttery potatoes, perfectly roasted chicken). And ordering a healthy salad at lunch means you can have oodles of rose wine, as well.

Pond’s Cold Cream. It’s like kryptonite for makeup. Swipe it on and everything comes off. I swear by it. I made a video about it.
