Lindsay Ellingson, Supermodel Lindsay Ellingson Co-founder and Creative Director of Wander Beauty
The quintessential California girl, Lindsay Ellingson, was born the middle of three daughters in a close-knit family not far from Palm Springs. Her lifelong love of science led her to the University of California San Diego, where she had planned to study biology. However, shortly after her arrival, fate intervened when a scout suggested she try modeling and head to Paris, where her first appointment was with legendary designer John Galliano, who promptly cast her in her first ever modeling job: the opening slot of his Christian Dior show. Since that fortuitous moment, Lindsay’s career has been on a trajectory she could have never imagined. Lindsay is now co-founder and creative director of Wander Beauty, a multi-tasking makeup essentials brand designed for style-savvy women craving luxurious products that seamlessly suits their on-the-go lifestyles. I recently watched Unacknowledged, a really interesting documentary about UFOs that fascinates me. I’ve always loved studying astronomy and staring up at the sky.

What do you love most about your work:
Lindsay
I love the variety of creative work that I get to do. At Wander Beauty my favorite part of the job is innovating, I love dreaming up new beauty products that women will love. As a model for 12 years, I love traveling to the most beautiful beaches in the world. I’ve been everywhere from pink, shell, white, and black sand beaches which I’m so grateful for.

One piece of advice you would give your 18 year old self:
Lindsay
I was studying biology at UCSD when I was 18 years old. I would tell myself to never listen to anyone who tells you something is impossible. I experienced this a few times and managed to always prove them wrong.

Midnight snack of choice
Lindsay
My weakness is fried food, I would eat truffle french fries every day if I could. When I’m craving something healthier, apples with almond butter is my go-to.

Skincare product you can’t live without and why:
Lindsay
I can’t live without Wander Beauty’s new Baggage Claim Gold Eye Masks. I’m a mask fanatic so it was so much fun to work with my team on my dream eye mask. I’m an introvert by nature so I constantly challenge myself to step outside of my comfort zone. That is where I grow the most! When I’m working towards a goal or dream that challenges me, I’m much more fulfilled in life.

I love Cookshop in NYC, their menu is all organic yet indulgent. My go-to brunch order is huevos rancheros.

The skill or sport you’re dying to learn:
Lindsay
My husband loves to snowboard in the winter and I can’t wait to share that sport with him. Although I’ve attempted to ski every season, I usually end up falling down the slopes. I plan on taking lessons this winter.

Something you never see going out of style is
Lindsay
Thick, youthful eyebrows. I am brow obsessed and think it’s the most important feature on your face. I, unfortunately, followed the thin brow trend of the 90’s so now I rely on our Frame Your Face Micro Brow Pencil which actually mimics the shape of the hair.
