Clean Beauty Finds On Walmart
January marks the start of the Invest in Yourself series here at Rank & Style HQ, which means we'll be focusing on the different ways in which you can use your time and money to establish the groundwork for a successful new year—think investment buys, health and wellness, and all things self-care.
With that, we've been thinking a lot about the quality of the products we slather on our pretty faces every day. We typically gravitate toward things that are labeled as "clean" or "green," but we'd be lying if we said we really took a deep dive through the ingredient lists before purchasing. The truth is, even brands that are known for being clean can have products in their lines that are far from it. And this shouldn't come as a surprise—the FDA has yet to define what the word "clean" even means, so many retailers have taken it upon themselves to interpret its meaning on their own. And while slight differences exist between each company's definition, they all have one thing in common: clean beauty products are non-toxic, favor natural ingredients, and are free of anything found potentially harmful to people or the planet. Clean beauty is a spectrum, but the consensus is that ingredients like parabens, sulfates, fragrances, phthalates, formaldehyde, talc, and silicone are big no-nos.
We know this is a lot of info, which is why we're sharing one of our favorite shortcuts to scoring clean beauty without confusion: Walmart. The website is home to many a cult-favorite beauty product, but what most don't know is that it also has an entire page dedicated to clean (like, actually clean) and affordable skincare and makeup. So if you'd like to clean up your routine for the new year but don't know where to start, look no further than the list below. We dug through Walmart's entire Mindful Beauty category so you don't have to, and we've rounded up a list of the 10 most standout products below. From skin-loving serums to award-winning self-tanners, keep scrolling for our list of the best beauty products at Walmart that are good for your skin and the environment. Opening image: walmart.com
