Blue, green, and oh-so bold. The vibrant packaging instantly conveys the inspiration behind the scent. When you think of an island, you think of something tropical—bright, cheerful, and fun. This fragrance embraces that aesthetic in the truest and best possible way. However, bottle and packaging aside, what really matters is the smell, and the initial sniffs are crucial for me. Fortunately, just after taking off the cap and giving a quick spritz in the air, my nose was immediately pleased and happy. It's a bright, fresh, and clean scent—exactly what you'd expect from a summer fragrance. Overall, my initial experience with this fragrance put a smile on my face. A fragrance called Island should look and smell like that, and Bond No. 9 achieved that for me in just a few moments.

Just like you can’t judge a book by its cover, you can’t always judge a fragrance with a few spritzes in the air. Ultimately, to give a good review of a new scent, it comes down to the wear test. While fragrance can smell different on everyone, I think it’s worth mentioning how I thought Bond No. 9’s Island lasted and wore throughout the day. With notes such as white ginger, fresh basil, water mint, green foliage, red seaweed, and even some creamy sandalwood and salty amber, I was intrigued by how this would play out on my skin. To my surprise, I thoroughly enjoyed it. As mentioned earlier, I definitely got the fresh and clean scent at the start, but towards the end of the day, the perfume started to really shine. It wore off a little bit but left the most subtle and bit woodsy scent behind. For me, this made it feel like a New York fragrance from Bond No 9. So, needless to say, from start to finish, I was hooked by the scent and would recommend it to anyone wanting something clean, fresh, and unique.
